Our Journey Back In Time~DinosHeather Cook
This is our first year using Mystery of History. I am so glad that this curriculum was introduced to my family. My children are actually excited about history, and they anticipate which project or activity we are going to do next. The past couple of weeks we have been doing the lessons on Noah’s ark and dinosaurs.
Ever since my oldest son was a tiny tot, he has had a love for dinosaurs. So, I couldn’t wait to get to the lesson on them!
Since we were headed to Texas, I packed our Mystery of History book in hopes that we would get to do a field trip to go alongside our current lessons. We were blessed with passes to the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History. It just so happens that they had a dinosaur exhibit that included a fossil dig.
After we returned home, we finished up the lessons on the dinosaurs and Noah’s ark. Since my oldest has always had a love for animals, we have a giant tote of plastic animals for the kids to play with. So, for the days activity I had them dump the tote out and start lining the animals up 2 by 2. They all worked together very well getting them lined up. For the most part we had 2 of each species, thanks to all the gifts from family over the years.
We spent time discussing the amazing details of the ark, and how much of a miraculous event it truly was.
We had a great time with these lessons over the past couple weeks. My children are absolutely loving all of the activities that we are doing with our history.
Be sure to check out The Mystery of History for your family. You will be very glad you did!
